This is the basic package that allows you to take your G2 road test after 8 months instead of 12, and may qualify you for insurance premium reductions.

How the BDE Course Works, Step by Step
Once you enrol, we email your enrolment key within 24 hours so you can start the online theory immediately. You complete the 20 hours of e-learning at your own pace, along with the 10 hours of HomeLink assignments. Once your theory is finished, we schedule your 10 hours of one-on-one in-car lessons around your availability in Ottawa or Peterborough. When you finish, your completion is registered directly in the MTO system and added to your driver's record.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I have to finish the course?
You have up to one year to complete all components, though most students finish the theory within a few weeks.
Is the insurance discount guaranteed?
No. The discount comes from your insurer, and the province doesn't guarantee it. The amount depends on the company, your age and your driving record, so ask your insurer before you count on a number. If they ask for proof of completion, order your driver's licence history from the Ministry ($12).
Can I start the theory before my in-car lessons?
Yes, and you have to. The Ministry requires you to finish the theory before your first in-car lesson. Most students complete it within a few weeks, then book their driving hours.
