In-Car Training Options (Choose One)
The BDE Plus course requires 10 hours of MTO in-car training. With this package, you choose how to use your 4 extra hours:
Option A: Maximum Practice
- 14 Hours Total In-Car Driving Lessons
- The best choice if you are a complete beginner and need the most on-road practice time.
- Does NOT include the use of the instructor's car for the road test.
Option B: Practice + Road Test Rental
- 12 Hours Total In-Car Driving Lessons
- INCLUDES the use of the instructor's car for your G2 or G road test.
- Ideal if you prefer to have the car rental confirmed in advance.
Note: You must choose your option when booking your in-car lessons with the instructor.
Which Option Should You Choose?
Both options give you the full MTO-approved BDE certification — the difference is how you use your 4 extra in-car hours.
- Choose Option A (14 hours) if you are a complete beginner with little or no prior driving experience and want the maximum amount of wheel time before your test.
- Choose Option B (12 hours + test car) if you want fewer lessons but the peace of mind of having the instructor's vehicle confirmed for your G2 or G road test at the Ottawa or Peterborough DriveTest centre.
